About us
4 LEGS AND PAWS RESCUE was a rescue born of a dire need to give so many worthy dogs Second Chances in Indiana and surrounding states. The focus has been on the "pit bull" type dogs, the dogs that much of society looks down upon. We want to change that perception, and portray that these dogs are loyal companions and great family pets. So in 2017, 4 LEGS AND PAWS RESCUE was formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Together, we know we can make a difference and provide so much to those who need a second chance. We are grateful for a large supportive community, but are always looking to make it bigger. Rescue takes a village, and our adopters, fosters, and volunteers play a key role in helping the ranch succeed. Where it started...
This is what started 4 LEGS. We have helped many rescues along the way but this fueled our passion to start our very own rescue.
In 2015 we were called about a dog living in the woods with three puppies. Monika Mccomb was the caretaker and kept them safe by feeding them everyday. After going everyday for 9 days we finally caught them.
We called her Journey. Now her and all her pups have wonderful homes and we are still in contact today.
Our Journey is not over and we will continue to save more lives. With an awesome team and a group of supporters along the way, we will help others.
